Alqami was founded by Samantha Campbell in early 2019 and was joined by David Riley and Jon Peters to further refine its services portfolio and product offering.
The founders saw two challenges in the alternative data market from both supply and demand perspectives. Firstly, businesses struggling to realize commercial returns from their data. And secondly, for those who understand the need and value in external, private and unique data sources to improve their business decisions and investment or risk models, but are finding the process difficult, lengthy and resource intensive to find the right data to deliver the best results.
Based in London, Samantha is an Australian from Perth originally by way of Malaysia, and the Founder CEO of ADS Alqami. She has entrepreneurial experience in several start-ups and a background in financial services, blockchain and data – and was an early adopter pioneer in the alternative data industry
Previously, she was Co-founder of MYNT, a blockchain Stablecoin, digitizing data assets, in London and New York that was sold in 2019. She then formed Alqami as an Alt Data broker, education, and consultancy in 2019 and Alt Data Systems in 2021, an alt data technology and services company, which consolidated the IP and business of Alqami.
Samantha started her career in the Resource sector holding traditional finance roles from treasury and management accounting, later transitioning into Financial Services where Samantha held various business development roles. Prior to launching Alqami she was responsible for coordinating the research due diligence and data requirements for the Ratings and Consulting clients at UBS Asset Management Australia.
Samantha is vibrant, personable, and strives to operate with flexibility giving her an ability to cope with high pressure and challenges.
